OUR MISSION

To make authentic, CEFR-aligned Swahili accessible to every global citizen who wants it.

OUR STORY

Swahili4You began with a single frustration: the world's 7th most spoken language had no home worthy of it. Our Kenyan-born founder watched diaspora families lose their mother tongue, NGO workers arrive in East Africa wordless, and Swahili remain invisible on the global stage. So in 2022, she began writing. Today, 8 modules, 47 lessons, and six continents later, the world is finally speaking Swahili.

OUR VISION

A world where Swahili stands alongside French, Mandarin, and Spanish as a language of global education and commerce.

OUR PEOPLE

A world where Swahili stands alongside French, Mandarin, and Spanish as a language of global education and commerce.

OUR PEOPLE

A world where Swahili stands alongside French, Mandarin, and Spanish as a language of global education and commerce.

What We Stand For

Our guiding principles

Whether you are a learner, an educator, or an institution — we are here. Reach out to the Swahili4You team and let us help you find the right path to Kiswahili fluency."

Cultural Authenticity

We don't strip Kiswahili of its context. Every lesson lives inside the real East Africa — its people, customs, landscapes, and history. Language without culture is a skeleton without a body.

Structural Rigour

Our curriculum strictly follows CEFR standards. Each module belongs to one level, no blending, no shortcuts. We build grammar the way Kiswahili itself is built: elegantly, systematically, from the ground up.

Clear Learning Outcomes

Every lesson has a single, measurable objective. You always know exactly what you can do after each session, whether that's naming 20 body parts or navigating a market negotiation.

Respect for Learners

We write for adults who are serious about language. No infantilising exercises, no oversimplification. We challenge learners while supporting them with structure, dialogue, and cultural explanation.

Living Curriculum

Language is alive. Our curriculum grows — new modules, updated dialogues, new cultural units. We listen to learners and improve continuously, all the way from A1 to C2 mastery.

How We Teach

Our pedagogical approach

Swahili4You combines the best of communicative language teaching with a deep respect for Swahili's grammatical structure.

Everything you need to know

Before you start, here are the answers to what learners most often ask.

Not at all. Module 1 begins with the very first sound — the Swahili vowel system. If you can say "a, e, i, o, u," you are ready. Absolute beginners are the people we designed A1 for.
CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is the international standard for language learning, used in universities and employers worldwide. Alignment means your progress is benchmarked, portable, and recognised globally.

Each module contains 5–7 lessons of approximately 15 minutes each, totalling 75–105 minutes per module. You can spread this over a week at your own pace — there are no deadlines or time pressure.

We teach Standard Kiswahili (Swahili Sanifu), which is the official form recognised across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and the wider East African Community. Regional dialects and coastal variations are introduced as cultural context from B1 onwards.
Yes, and we actively encourage it. Our CEFR-aligned structure makes integration into formal curricula straightforward. Teachers can use our modules as a primary resource or to supplement existing programmes. Contact us for institutional enquiries.
